I bought this bike as a part of
larger purchase in the fall of 2007. All it needed was coolant and a
battery. I kept this in a barn at a friend's place to protect it from the weather all winter. But when I went to bring it home, it fell off the trailer. In my defense, it was a strap that let go. I did see it and stop immediately, but the damage had already been done. |

The footpegs have been replaced with Hawk pegs bought on
Ebay. The right peg was torn off when the bike fell from the trailer.

The leading corner of the master cylinder and banjo bolt
were ground down. The right mirror perch snapped off. (It's just sitting in the
right spot)

The right turn signal was badly damaged, but still works,
and the headlight trim and the speedometer case were scratched pretty badly.

The tank was the worst of the damage to me. While the finish had faded and was scratched a bit, the tank didn't have any real damage before it fell off the trailer. I'll be hiring a local body man to repair and repaint the tank as finances permit. There are new mirrors on the way from Ebay, and a battery on the way from Apex Battery Superstore, Once they arrive I'll be able to try to start the bike for the first time since I got it. I stored it with Sta-Bil in the gas and a full tank, and the previous owner tells me it ran shortly before I bought it. I'm praying the carbs don't have top come off for cleaning. I'll need to do an oil and filter change, and flush and refill the coolant. But those are regular maintenance, so I'm not going to be impatient and ride yet. Everything in it's time. |
